Establishing my own legal consultancy company with a focus on strategic advice and recruitment was the logical next step for me. I felt my experiences in establishing law firm offices and practices in London was unique and I could apply those skills and experiences for the benefit of others.
Others often comment on the network I have built and the access I have to many of the leaders in the London legal market. I have also always had a real interest in the career development of lawyers at all levels. Blending these skills and bringing together a team at LTN who share a similar outlook offers both candidates and law firm clients a proposition that is different and hard for competitors to match.
I believe we understand both sides of the recruitment equation. The right fit is paramount, and our job is to match candidates and firms. It must work for both, not just for now, but for the long term. I think we are the only firm that actively looks to manage talent and develop career paths for our candidates. We are the only firm that can speak credibly to law firm leaders about their needs and how to use recruitment as a strategic tool. We work with candidates and their new firms in delivering on their identified business objectives. Our job does not stop when the candidate signs up.
This all fits neatly with the consultancy side of our business. We look to support firms in transition, who want to move their businesses forward quickly and intelligently. This is not just about recruitment but involves developing strategies and business plans to enable firms to move themselves to the next level.
One thing we have been hearing from both the law firms and their clients is that the clock is ticking on the need for tangible progress with diversity and social mobility initiatives. This means looking at your hiring from the bottom up and starts with trainee programmes. It also entails looking at your culture and being willing to open up your firm to fresh ideas. Lateral recruitment can play a significant role here.
When I’m not running around the City (no pun intended) I follow my beloved Manchester United. So far, my limited parenting of my three wonderful daughters has at least meant they share my allegiance. My wife, Janaki, takes the plaudits for all their other attributes.
Having left the world of law in 2016 to establish my own legal recruitment business, joining LTN & Partners and working alongside former colleagues seemed the logical next step given the ambitions of LTN and our previous cooperation and success in establishing and building new businesses.
My current focus combines my role as Chief Operating Officer with working alongside our Consultancy, Partner, and Associate teams.
Prior to moving into legal search and consultancy, I was a member of the senior non-lawyer team that established the London office of a US law firm and prior to that, a member of the senior business support team that built one of the leading leveraged finance businesses in the City. My law firm career began in 1995, and I have worked extensively on the ground in London, Asia and Continental Europe and have maintained strong links and connections in these markets.
I am based in London having given up the far sunnier, warmer, and more attractive climate of the Mediterranean in 2022 and now spend much of my time asking why.
I joined LTN & Partners in September 2021 and focus on associate recruitment across the London market. I recruit for leading US firms as well Magic and Silver Circle firms and smaller boutique firms. I cover all practice areas but most recently I have found myself making more placements into the following areas: Corporate, Capital Markets, Banking & Finance, Disputes (Litigation and Arbitration), Restructuring, Funds and Projects.
I pride myself in providing both candidates and clients with an honest, efficient, and effective recruitment solution and being able to build long-term and lasting relationships with candidates and clients alike. Prior to joining LTN, I worked within HR Financial Services recruitment and I’m able to draw on these experiences to add real value and insight to the entire recruitment lifecycle.
Outside of LTN, I play rugby for the Law Society RFC which has included rugby tours of Paris, Argentina and Uruguay. I’m also a keen golfer and I love exploring new courses around the world, most notably playing at TPC Sawgrass.
As a partner at leading global Wall Street and City firms, my legal career focused predominantly (though not exclusively) on emerging markets, advising bulge-bracket investment banks, sovereign and quasi-sovereign states, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, as well as blue-chip corporates on numerous ground-breaking financing and securities transactions. I focused initially on Russia and the former CIS countries before expanding my practice into India, the Middle East, and Africa.
From 2013 to 2020 I successfully set up a legal-focused business consultancy at the request of various ultra-high-net-worth individuals/family offices, the CEOs of blue-chip global corporates, and senior partners at global professional-service providers, to provide strategic advisory and consultancy services, assist with or effect change management, drive business development, and execute on specific projects. In that period, I also successfully established, financed, grew, and exited two successful sports related businesses.
I have worked with Maurice and other members of the LTN team for close to 18 years.
I joined the partner team at LTN & Partners in 2022 as a Director and bring several years of experience advising both clients and candidates on high profile moves in the London market. I primarily focus on representing lawyers with top tier US law firms and a select number of UK-headquartered clients. Having assisted my clients in strengthening their existing offering or kickstarting new teams, I feel I am well positioned to advise both law firms looking to expand, and lawyers who might be considering a career change. I undertake both contingent and retained work. While I principally work in private practice, I have worked on and completed numerous in-house mandates, placing both GCs and Deputy GCs.
I am firmly convinced the talent of the team at LTN, as well as the integration between its recruitment and its consultancy business, allow us unparalleled access to senior decision-makers in London as well as in foreign markets, a claim very few competitors can credibly make.
I work in the partner team at LTN & Partners and focus on providing advice to counsel and partners who are looking for their next career move. With eight years’ experience in legal recruitment, I predominately work with US and top-UK law firms across a variety of practice areas and sectors.
My approach is detailed and research-heavy, ensuring I provide lawyers with all the information they need when considering a move.
The legal market has changed substantially since I started. Now, there is a great deal of emphasis on workplace culture and the provision of flexible working options. As the market continues in this direction, I am also very happy to speak with lawyers who are interested in finding out what options might be available to them. I have a particular interest in advising women working in the legal industry on their career ambitions and am working with my colleagues in LTN’s consultancy team to advise law firms on their D&I initiatives.
I have worked in professional services relationship marketing for over 30 years. Before I joined LTN & Partners, in 2021, I was Director of Marketing & Communications at a large US law firm, building and then managing the Marketing & Communications team for their new office in London. I have worked extensively in Europe, Asia and the US and I specialise in high-end event management, communications, and the set-up of new businesses – concentrating on brand development and internal communications.
Outside of work, I am an avid sports fan and follow rugby, tennis and F1.
As Senior Researcher, I provide thorough candidate, client, and market research to all teams in the business. In particular, I work with the Consultancy team on client projects such as strategic business plans, law firm start-ups and practice area build outs.
I enjoy researching and analysing trends in the legal market and have developed a keen commercial awareness when it comes to the intricacies of various legal practices and jurisdictions.
I also enjoy working on internal business development, operations, and pro-bono projects and I am the main point of contact for LTN’s Intern and Work Experience programmes.
I am originally from Manchester but have lived and worked in London since 2016. I joined LTN in March 2020 post a stint at an executive search firm in Wimbledon while completing my master’s degree in The History of Political Thought and Intellectual History at UCL.
Outside of work, my interest in history means I can often be found (usually in the giftshop) of the many great museums and galleries in London.
I support senior associates and counsel with lateral moves, often into day one partnership.
Before joining LTN, I worked as a white collar investigations lawyer at Ropes & Gray and spent some time practising as an interim consultant for Linklaters and various other firms.
Now I help lawyers with their next career move, matching their goals to the opportunities available with our top tier law firm clients.
I’m passionate about connecting our clients with my diverse network of candidates, particularly women, minorities and people from underrepresented social backgrounds.
In my spare time, I sometimes speak at events and run workshops on intersectional identity. When I’m not trying to put the world to rights, you can usually find me at home with my nose in a good book.
I am a senior recruiter at LTN and have worked in different facets of law which gives me a breadth of experience in corporate, commercial, IP and immigration law. I am a qualified IP lawyer – completing my LLB in the UK and LLM in IP Law in the USA. I moved back to my native country, Pakistan, where I continued to build on my experience and worked in private practice and in-house roles. When I moved to London in 2014, I fell in love with the city instantly.
My true passion is watching people grow professionally and personally and being a part of their journeys. Working in the Associate Team at LTN gives me the opportunity to do just that along with establishing strong and long-term relationships with our clients.
My interests outside of work are traveling, swimming, and painting- all of which have taken a back seat to the pure joy and madness of cleaning up after my energetic young son.
I have always been passionate about the development of talent and helping people achieve their full potential. Working at LTN & Partners helps me to continue to do that in the legal profession even though I no longer work as a practicing lawyer.
I work with all the teams at LTN to help law firms identify and nurture talent to strengthen their respective businesses.
Before working at LTN & Partners, I had over 25 years’ experience working in the City as a lawyer serving the leveraged finance and private equity markets, most recently as Head of Leveraged Finance at Linklaters. My leadership role developed a keen interest in, and focus on, leadership, resilience and teamwork and I was also a mentor to a large number of lawyers and also an ally to a number of LGBTQ+ members of staff.
I joined LTN & Partners at the start of 2022 as a Senior Recruiter in the Associate team, having been in the legal recruitment industry since 2018. Over the years I have developed an expertise in advising Associates moving to and within top-tier US law firms in London, as well as a number of leading UK firms. I have also moved Associates into the London market from overseas jurisdictions, in particular those coming from Ireland and across the European continent, NYC, and Australasia.
I work closely with clients to understand their hiring needs and have earnt a reputation in the market as a trusted advisor to both law firms and Associates alike. Although private practice recruitment continues to be my main focus, I have also worked on a number of successful in-house legal hires.
Outside of work I volunteer as a befriender to the elderly through the London Irish Centre.
I joined LTN & Partners last year as a Researcher on the 2022/23 graduate programme. The programme has enabled me to provide research support to the Partner recruitment team and has also given me a taste of life as a legal recruiter within the Associate team.
I am originally from South Wales and graduated from the University of Bristol with an LLB Law degree. During my studies I spent a year in the Netherlands, which has left me with a lifelong appreciation for cycling and stroopwafels.
Outside of my new career in legal recruitment, I enjoy travelling and sampling as many unique beers as I can (ideally at the same time).
I joined LTN & Partners as Bookkeeper in January 2022 having previously worked with many of the team for over ten years. Prior to joining, I worked as a marketing event manager for a leading US law firm, I’m also a qualified Legal Secretary so am generally a capable pair of hands!
My weekends are usually spent driving my three children around to dance practice, swimming or rugby.
I am a member of the Partner team at LTN & Partners, where my focus is working on lateral partner hiring, day-1 partner hiring, full-team moves and office openings.
I joined LTN in 2023, with several years of experience recruiting at all levels of the legal industry across London, APAC & Europe. I work on contingent and retained work, sourcing the market’s top talent for specific law firm mandates, or proactively helping top partners find their ideal role.
My approach is a long-term consultative approach. I am a firm believer that a person’s career is one of the most important things in life. It needs to be cared for and guided in the most appropriate direction.
When I am not recruiting, you will find me running, walking my cocker-spaniel, Nacho, gaming or eating breakfast with my wife!
