About us

LTN & Partners are not just a legal recruitment firm. Our team is a combination of experienced top-tier recruiters, ex law firm partners and seasoned business support professionals.  We know what type of candidate you are looking for, and we also know how your business works. We have a proven track record in finding talent others cannot source and matching that talent to the needs of our law firms’ clients.

Our recruitment and talent management team concentrates on partner and associate searches, team moves, office openings and buildouts, and in-house legal searches across EMEA and the US.

Our business consultancy team is led by our founder, Maurice Allen, who has unique experience in building law firm offices, practices, and teams. Our value-add is that we help law firms shape their recruitment strategy and with our market knowledge and contacts identify the right lawyers to deliver on that plan. To our law firm clients, we say we will find you candidates others cannot, and we are better placed than anyone to present your firm to lateral recruits.

Our approach is also distinct for our candidates. We will work with you to develop a proper career plan and look to act for you throughout your career. We can identify and access all the law firm opportunities that will be attractive to you.

Diversity & inclusion statement

At LTN & Partners we are devoted to ensuring everything we do is not only excellent but inclusive and diverse. It starts with our own team and extends to our partners and the way we present ourselves to our clients.

We are committed to ensuring equal opportunities for everyone and measure an individual on their abilities and not on gender, race, age, sexual orientation, disability, or religious belief.

We work with clients who believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce is vital to progress and success. Our unique approach, as long-term advisers to our candidates and firms, allows us to help them find a true best-fit – in turn achieving lasting and mutually beneficial business relationships.

We are a founding member of the social mobility charity Aspiring Solicitors Foundation which provides financial assistance to young people looking to enter the legal profession and as LTN continues to grow we are constantly seeking new networks and organisations that share our values that we can partner with to effect real change.

Our team

  • Partner recruitment
  • Associate recruitment
  • Consulting
  • For the LTN partner team it is all about the talent and relationships, marrying our extensive pool of talent to the needs of our law firm clients. It’s an approach where everyone wins – clients receive services (including advice through our consulting business) that attract and retain exceptional talent worldwide; candidates enjoy support that sees them thrive in their new roles. People who work with us enjoy a positive and collaborative working relationship which extends beyond a one-off hiring event.

  • On the Associate desk at LTN we work on roles from newly qualified through to senior associate. Many of our positions will be in London, although we also get involved with mandates in mainland Europe, Ireland, Asia, and the Middle East. We work in areas of law covered by the major international firms and whilst our focus is on US firms, we have great relationships with UK headquartered firms and boutiques. We can assist with CV preparation, applications, interview coaching and negotiating offers, to ensure that the process is as smooth as possible, and you are in the best position to focus on being your best self.

Please don’t hesitate to get in contact if you are considering a move and we would be happy to assist in strict confidence.

Establishing my own legal consultancy company with a focus on strategic advice and recruitment was the logical next step for me. I felt my experiences in establishing law firm offices and practices in London was unique and I could apply those skills and experiences for the benefit of others.

Others often comment on the network I have built and the access I have to many of the leaders in the London legal market. I have also always had a real interest in the career development of lawyers at all levels. Blending these skills and bringing together a team at LTN who share a similar outlook offers both candidates and law firm clients a proposition that is different and hard for competitors to match.

I believe we understand both sides of the recruitment equation.  The right fit is paramount, and our job is to match candidates and firms. It must work for both, not just for now, but for the long term.  I think we are the only firm that actively looks to manage talent and develop career paths for our candidates. We are the only firm that can speak credibly to law firm leaders about their needs and how to use recruitment as a strategic tool. We work with candidates and their new firms in delivering on their identified business objectives. Our job does not stop when the candidate signs up.

This all fits neatly with the consultancy side of our business. We look to support firms in transition, who want to move their businesses forward quickly and intelligently. This is not just about recruitment but involves developing strategies and business plans to enable firms to move themselves to the next level.

One thing we have been hearing from both the law firms and their clients is that the clock is ticking on the need for tangible progress with diversity and social mobility initiatives. This means looking at your hiring from the bottom up and starts with trainee programmes. It also entails looking at your culture and being willing to open up your firm to fresh ideas. Lateral recruitment can play a significant role here.

When I’m not running around the City (no pun intended) I follow my beloved Manchester United. So far, my limited parenting of my three wonderful daughters has at least meant they share my allegiance. My wife, Janaki, takes the plaudits for all their other attributes.

I lead our partner team at LTN & Partners and work alongside our consulting and associate teams. I have been with LTN right from the start. It has been a great journey since LTN was formed and I believe we have built a market leading legal recruitment and consulting business and have an amazing group of clients.

In that time the market at the top end has changed significantly and there is no doubt that our firm is perfectly placed to help both candidates and clients to achieve their growth plans in the top tier market. I am particularly interested in building close and long-term relationships with candidates and clients. Career moves between the top US and UK firms are complex, but we believe should be a rewarding experience for both the candidate and client.

I was an IP lawyer, working at both Bristows in London and at Blake Dawson (now Ashurst) in Australia. I am originally from Melbourne but have been in the London market for over a decade. I undertake both contingent and retained partner searches. I act mostly for teams, both small and large and work almost exclusively for the top US firms and a select group of UK firms. When acting for candidates we have better access to leaders of law firms than any other business.

I am the head of the Associate desk at LTN, which I started with Alex in early 2021.  My focus is on the long-term for my clients and I look to give the best possible advice.  Having placed lawyers into so many different sectors, I can give advice outside my current focus, which enables me to consult on a wide range of options. I am extremely fortunate to really love what I do, and I am constantly looking to learn and improve the service that I can offer my clients.

Since 2003 I have been recruiting lawyers into temporary and permanent positions within government, in-house, financial services, and private practice.  From 2010 I have been concentrating solely on placing Associates into permanent and fulfilling roles in law firms.  My experience and market knowledge has set me up perfectly to grow the Associate desk at LTN and I am loving the challenge that comes with that.

I graduated from university with a physics degree which has obviously been critical to my career ever since. When not supporting my clients, I enjoy escaping to the golf course, various other sports, and spending time in the countryside with my wife and family.

I joined the partner team of LTN & Partners in 2019, when it was just a team of 3. I remember at the time I was told by others in the industry that “start-ups rarely ever work”. However, recognising the opportunity to work alongside former leaders of elite US and UK law firms, it was too good an opportunity to pass up.

Since then, our company has grown significantly. We have unparalleled access to a range of top-tier US and International law firms. We pride ourselves on being able to offer something more than traditional recruitment services and work closely with our clients to understand their vision and strategy, and how we might best be able to assist our clients in achieving these goals.

The partner team work closely with our consultancy business, as our ability to offer a blend of recruitment and consultancy services is unique in this industry. As a result we can genuinely offer candidates and clients alike a bespoke service tailored to them.

I work closely with individuals, or teams of individuals looking to move, by delivering a personal service and building lasting relationships. We do not view a potential move as a “one off” but instead I see my role as a trusted advisor at all stages in an individual’s career. I have over 10 years’ of experience placing Partners into US, Magic Circle and International law firms. We also work closely with the “Big 4”.

I was quoted in a recent The Lawyer article alongside my colleagues Maurice Allen and Adam Freeman https://www.thelawyer.com/the-biggest-winners-of-2021-are-the-recruiters/ on the ever-changing legal market and the challenges presented as we start to exit a Covid dominated world.

There is no doubt the legal industry will continue to evolve as the demand for talent intensifies – I firmly believe we are best placed to assist.

As a partner at leading global Wall Street and City firms, my legal career focused predominantly (though not exclusively) on emerging markets, advising bulge-bracket investment banks, sovereign and quasi-sovereign states, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, as well as blue-chip corporates on numerous ground-breaking financing and securities transactions. I focused initially on Russia and the former CIS countries before expanding my practice into India, the Middle East, and Africa.

From 2013 to 2020 I successfully set up a legal-focused business consultancy at the request of various ultra-high-net-worth individuals/family offices, the CEOs of blue-chip global corporates, and senior partners at global professional-service providers, to provide strategic advisory and consultancy services, assist with or effect change management, drive business development, and execute on specific projects.  In that period, I also successfully established, financed, grew, and exited two successful sports related businesses.

I have worked with Maurice and other members of the LTN team for close to 18 years.

I work in the partner team at LTN and focus on providing advice to senior associates, counsel, and partners who are looking for their next career move. With seven years of experience in legal recruitment, I have worked with a wide range of law firms, from top US firms and the Magic Circle to ’boutique’ law firms in London’s West End.

My approach is detailed and research-heavy, ensuring I provide lawyers with all the information they need when considering a move.

The legal market has changed substantially since I started. Now, there is a great deal of emphasis on workplace culture and the provision of flexible working options. As the market continues in this direction, I am also very happy to speak with lawyers who are interested in finding out what options might be available to them.

As Senior Researcher I focus on providing detailed market research for consultancy and recruitment projects. Since starting at LTN I have assisted the recruitment teams with searches for Magic Circle, US, and international law firms by delivering extensive market mapping of various legal practices and thorough candidate research. I also support the consultancy team with market research and analysis for a variety of business development and client projects.

I am originally from Manchester but have lived in London since studying for my BA in History at Queen Mary University. I joined LTN after completing my master’s degree in The History of Political Thought and Intellectual History at UCL. While studying I worked as researcher for an executive search firm in Wimbledon.

Outside of work, my interest in History means I can often be found (usually in the giftshop) of one of the great museums or galleries around London. I also enjoy travelling and look forward to visiting new places in 2022.

I offer clients (candidates and firms alike), a unique perspective into the hiring process, from a strategic and operational level having worked on both sides of the equation. In my previous law firm roles, I enjoyed a broad remit or responsibilities that I now tailor and use for the benefit of our consultancy and recruitment clients. These include: strategic analysis and planning, business development, client engagement, lateral partner hiring and integration, associate hiring, training and mentoring and financial analysis. I have been involved in the legal industry since 1996, and have worked for Magic Circle and US law firms.

Prior to moving into legal search, I was a key member of the senior non-lawyer team that established the London office of a US law firm. During my law firm career, I have worked extensively in London, Hong Kong and Continental Europe and have maintained strong links and connections in these markets. My move into legal search has resulted in successful placements (partner and associate) in London, Hong Kong, and New Zealand where I have strong connections with the legal community. My current focus, combines partner level recruitment and working with the LTN consultancy team to offer strategic advisory and consultancy services to assist with or effect change management for our law firm and non-law firm clients.

I am based in Cyprus and split my time between the sunny skies of the Island and the less than sunny skies of London.

I have worked in relationship marketing for over 30 years, specifically in the professional services sector. Most recently I was Director of Marketing & Communications at a large US firm, building and managing a team for their new office in London. I have worked extensively in Europe, Asia and the US and I specialise in high-end event management, communications, and the set-up of new businesses. Working with management to open offices and build teams from scratch – concentrating on brand development and internal communications. I am result focussed and a safe pair of hands to get things done!

Outside of work, I am an avid sports fan and follow Wasps Rugby. I also spend way too much time in restaurants and bars – which I pretend is research for work.

I am a founding member of our Associate Team. I started working in legal recruitment in 2005 when I joined my LTN colleague Andrew Smallwood at a leading consultancy. My passion is working with people and the fast-paced nature of recruitment. When advising associates I encourage them to take a long-term view and plan strategic career moves at the right time for them.

In addition to recruitment, I have been fortunate enough to spend part of my career in the world of sports management which means I am able to draw on a wide range of valuable learnings and experiences outside of my current focus, to benefit both clients and candidates.

Outside LTN, I am married with three children, love sport, and often somehow find myself watching trashy reality TV – I blame my wife

I am a Consultant working across the recruitment and consulting sides of our business. I help our clients recruit the best talent the legal market has to offer and consult on strategy around wider business growth.

Before joining LTN, I worked as a white collar and investigations lawyer at Ropes & Gray and spent some time practising as one of those mythical independent legal consultants for Linklaters and various other firms.

As a Londoner, I’m passionate about connecting our clients to the most diverse pool of talented lawyers the city has to offer, as well as helping firms foster a more inclusive working environment for women and minorities.

In my spare time, I sometimes freelance as a writer/organiser of events around intersectional identity for 2ndgeneration minorities. When I’m not trying to put the world to rights, you can usually find me with my nose in a book, with mates or slowing everyone down in an exercise class that was clearly too advanced for me.

I started working in recruitment in 2014 after graduating from university and joined LTN as an Associate Director in September 2021 to work within the Associate team. I pride myself in providing both candidates and clients with an honest, efficient, and effective recruitment solution and being able to build long-term and lasting relationships with candidates and clients alike.

Prior to joining LTN, I worked within HR Financial Services recruitment and I’m able to draw on these experiences to add real value and insight to the entire recruitment lifecycle.

Outside of LTN I’m a keen watcher and participator in a range of sports including playing rugby for the Law Society RFC, so the world of Legal recruitment feels very fitting.

I am a senior recruiter at LTN and have worked in different facets of law which gives me a breadth of experience in corporate, commercial, IP and immigration law. I am a qualified IP lawyer – completing my LLB in the UK and LLM in IP Law in the USA.  I moved back to my native country, Pakistan, where I continued to build on my experience and worked in private practice and in-house roles. When I moved to London in 2014, I fell in love with the city instantly.

My true passion is watching people grow professionally and personally and being a part of their journeys. Working in the Associate Team at LTN gives me the opportunity to do just that along with establishing strong and long-term relationships with our clients.

My interests outside of work are traveling, swimming, and painting- all of which have taken a back seat to the pure joy and madness of cleaning up after my energetic young son.

I am a member of the LTN consultancy team with over 25 years’ experience working in the City as a lawyer serving the leveraged finance and private equity markets. I qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and become a partner in 2002, spending over 15 years as a partner at Linklaters over five of which as Head of Leveraged Finance. Given my leadership role, I take a keen interest in, and focus on, leadership, resilience and teamwork. I was a mentor to a large number of lawyers and also an ally to a number of LGBTQ+ members of staff. I became interested in the various techniques and styles of leadership with a view to developing a culture of elite performance.

I joined LTN & Partners in January as a Senior Recruiter in the Associate team. My client focus is on leading US and UK law firms, for whom I recruit Associates at all levels of seniority and across all practice areas. I began my legal recruitment career at another leading legal recruitment agency, where I worked on placements both within private practice and the in-house market.

Prior to embarking on a career in legal recruitment I studied Psychology at UCL.

Outside of work I can be found either binge-watching the latest Netflix series, or out socialising with friends and family. I’ve also recently taken up boxing as a hobby.

Establishing my own legal consultancy company with a focus on strategic advice and recruitment was the logical next step for me. I felt my experiences in establishing law firm offices and practices in London was unique and I could apply those skills and experiences for the benefit of others.
